Heidegger and the problem of life beyond a botany of plants
Main Article Content
Heidegger’s approach to the problem of life is one of the most puzzling andcontroversial topics of his work. It has been specially criticized the fact thatHeidegger, in particular in his existenciary analytic of the Dasein, introducesa gap between the Dasein and the living. Against such readings, I intend toshow that the problem of life is crucial to understand not only the path thatleads to Being and Time but also some of the central claims of this latterwork, specially the methodological privilege of Dasein it departs from. Iwill claim that Dasein can be methodologically distinguished from the restof living creatures because it shows eminently the motion that characterizeslife and not, as it is usually believed, because it is completely different fromlife altogether.
