The relationship between holism and empirical theories

The concept of holism has acquired a great importance at thelatest semantic and epistemic analysis. Nevertheless, many of thePhilosophers who have used this concept have not defined it withclarity. The object of this article is to intend to clarify one of themodes in which this concept can be understood. For it I will centerin the relations between holism and empirical theories. I will usesome of the elements of the structuralist theory proposed by Moulines,Sneed and Balzer to give complete account of how it mightconciliate the thesis of holism with the structuralistic view of scientifictheories.
