This article deals with the problem of symbol as the richest sign, or that which is the most carried with meaning. It has, as Ricoeur says, a surplus of sense that makes it to go over the limits imposed by our cultural situation, and makes us to pass from the symbologic to the ontologic. What Cassirer ñames "symbol" is called by Peirce "icón". On the other hand, Kant said that the only access to symbol is an analogical one. For peircean semiotics icón is symbol, i.e. the richest sign, and, at the same time, is the analogical sign. It only can be interpreted by analogy. All this puts us in the way of an anajogico-iconic hermeneutics.
