This article presents what can be considered the theory of sensory evidence relating to empirical theories, which the American philosopher W.V.O. Quine expounded in the philosophical context of a naturalized epistemology. It is from the close relationship between evidence and stimulating meaning in Quine's relative empiricism that his thesis on moderate holism ultimately develops.
