In the history of biblical exegesis, Kant does not have a place. However, the German philosopher expressed himself and wrote some important statements and ideas about hermeneutica sacra and its relation with Kantian critical philosophy. The following pages try to outline Kant's main thoughts concerning biblical interpretation, even its principles, and to present them in a comprehensive way. Religion within the Limits of Reason Alone and The Dispute of Faculties are two works which contain essential matters in relation to the Bible and its proper interpretation.
