This monograph on Edmund Husserl highlights his interest in mathematics and in the philosophy of Franz Brentano—from which Husserl applied the concept of intention—the philosophy of consciousness according to the maxim “all consciousness is consciousness of something”; the beginning of the difficult task of phenomenology, of which Husserl was the founder.
